Materials: Sculpted plaster-vinyl compound colored with multiple layers of acrylic paints and glazes, decoupage handmade paper wings, 5 vintage jewels, gold leaf, finished with an ultra-durable exterior varnish
Description: The Japanese kanji reads "Tonbo," or "Dragonfly" as translated into English. As this dragonfly glides across the painting, we can see through the translucent paper wings, past the thick white and gold fibers to the cool blue water below. The dragonfly's eyes glow a bright iridescent gold with glimmering green flecks highlighting the color of its body. Additional embellishments to the torso include an antique brooch with an intricately engraved scene surrounded by two gold vintage jewels while gold leafing adorns the segments of the tail.
